It is with great disappointment that the
Argyle Bluegrass Festival organizing committee announces the cancellation of the March 2010 festival.
Since the festival's inception, the campus of Cross Timbers Community Church
in Argyle, Texas, has been home to our event. The growth of both the church and the festival has increased
the potential for conflicting space and programming needs during the festival weekend. Unfortunately, Cross Timbers is unable to commit their venue to us at
this time, making timely booking decisions impossible for an appropriate 2010 talent line-up.
The level of talent that the Argyle Bluegrass Festival presents each year requires booking
months, sometimes years, in advance. In addition to our award-winning talent the festival
hosts an annual Arts & Crafts fair, conducts workshop classes, provides jamming space and a food pavilion.
Finding an alternate Argyle-area venue
that can accommodate all that we offer our guests has proven to be an insurmountable
challenge.
We appreciate the ongoing support of our sponsors,
guests and volunteers. We welcome your comments and suggestions as
we consider the future of our festival.
